ACADEMICS

With respect to the Men of Principle initiative, the Beta Pi chapter and its members have made a committment to develop their mind at college not only socially, but in the classroom. Being a leader academically in the University of Minnesota Greek community, as well as among all men at the University, is a steadfast goal we always strive to improve.

In Spring 2005, Beta earned top honors on campus among fraternities with a 3.33 G.P.A. average among members. The final mark for the Fall 2004 semester was 3.21, beating the all-mens average at the University of Minnesota, and fulfilling one of the goals of our great fraternity. In the Spring 2004 semester the members reached a 3.30 G.P.A. In Fall 2006 Beta earned top honors with a 3.19 GPA. Beta has been first in grades for 7 out of the past 8 semesters. The chapter also recently implemented a program offering scholarships to members who improve their grades the most signifcantly.

All members are required to achieve a 2.6 G.P.A., a Beta Theta Pi standard that is mandatory across our some 120+ chapters in North America. In order to maintain our standard in new members, pledges must achieve a 2.5 G.P.A. during their pledge semester in order to be initiated. Fraternity life at Beta Theta Pi is meant to stimulate the mind for future life, to give our members more opportunity to acheive great things in the reminder of their lives.
